See why we recommend itThe job behind the choice
Explain a filter change while keeping the interface recognizable
Illustrative brief: show an approved search-results screen, emphasize one real filter and present its verified resulting state. Keep labels and values unchanged, preserve an orientation anchor and distinguish editorial callouts from native controls. The example is a planning study, not an automatically verified interaction.
Who this is for: Product designers and marketers turning approved software screens into a legible animated explanation.
What we weighed
- Handling of approved design assets or actual screen states
- Control over text, alignment and focus changes
- Ability to revise a specific object or scene
- Preservation of the difference between editorial and native UI
- Output choices for the intended presentation
Research method
We reviewed the current official records checked on 5 October 2026 and selected workflows relevant to design animation, screen explanation and graphic overlays. We did not test pixel fidelity, interaction accuracy or rendering performance. The order is Animro's disclosed editorial preference for the stated UI brief.

1. Animro
Our pick for reviewing the interface explanation before motion
AI motion studio for branded business videos
UI animation needs a clear contract about what is real and what is editorial. Animro's storyboard and styleframe process lets a product reviewer inspect the intended focus, labels and scene composition before the moving draft. We rank it first for teams that want to direct this work through review rather than manipulate every element themselves.
Supply the exact before and after screens and state which callouts belong outside the product. Once a draft exists, mark the frame where the filter loses its orientation anchor or a result appears too early. The documented version and time context helps keep that correction precise. The final-render step follows creative approval; it does not validate the underlying software behavior.
Reasons to consider it
- Screenshots and approved fonts can anchor the visual brief.
- Annotated drafts support exact scene-level feedback.
The tradeoff
No native Figma import is claimed here. Prepare the source screens explicitly and verify every represented interaction against the real app.
Access and availability: Anyone can sign up on the public site. New accounts get 1,500 free credits, and no card is needed. After that, you buy credits in the studio, from €10. Each step, such as a storyboard, a draft or the final video, uses credits based on the work it takes, and you see an estimate before it starts.Product research checkedEvidence behind this assessment
Creative workflow
The current build separates brief and storyboard planning, scene styleframe review, animation drafts and an explicit Render final action.
Brand and product assets
The product accepts supplied logos, screenshots, fonts and music to direct a video's identity and product story.
Review and revision
Creators can direct revisions in chat, annotate scene frames with version/time context, inspect browser drafts and retain earlier versions before final rendering.
Published output information
The public FAQ describes 1080p H.264 MP4 with AAC audio in 16:9, 9:16 and 1:1 formats; the current build separates draft review from final downloads.
- Visit Jitter
2. Jitter
For editable design imports and direct animation control
Collaborative motion design editor with AI
Jitter is particularly relevant when the UI starts as an approved Figma design or SVG rather than only a flattened image. Its imported assets, action-based timeline and reusable animation controls give a designer a direct route to the movement. Current AI agents can also create or remix editable scenes, so the workflow can mix generation and manual decisions.
For the filter study, keep the native UI group separate from editorial annotations. Reuse an approved easing treatment only where it expresses the correct action, and inspect text positions after any AI-requested tweak. The purpose is an understandable focus change, not movement for its own sake. A final still should preserve the screen's original hierarchy.
Reasons to consider it
- Figma, SVG, media and custom-font imports are documented.
- Video, Lottie and transparent-output options are described.
The tradeoff
A design file may represent a proposed interface rather than a released one. Confirm product truth and the chosen plan's exact export entitlement before delivery.
Access and availability: The official product page offers public account creation and a free starting option.Product research checkedEvidence behind this assessment
Design editor and AI scenes
Jitter combines editable design imports and templates with AI agents that can create or remix animation scenes.
Design assets and reusable motion
It imports Figma designs, SVGs, media, and custom fonts and supports reusing animations and easing across files.
Timeline and AI editing
Its action-based timeline supports direct changes, while AI chat can make design tweaks and create animation or format variants.
Video and web animation
Exports include MP4, MOV, WebM, GIF, and Lottie; transparent video and frame-by-frame export are documented.
- Visit After Effects
3. After Effects
For specialist-authored UI composites and detailed transitions
Desktop motion graphics and compositing
After Effects is useful when the team has a motion specialist who needs detailed control over layers, compositing and effects. Imported Illustrator and Photoshop material can become part of a controlled interface presentation, while the composition and delivery workflow supports deliberate frame-level decisions. This is a production-ownership choice rather than a general claim of superior output.
For this assignment, document the native screen's scale and orientation, then place callouts on separate layers. Inspect masks around moving labels and the join between verified states. If a visual flourish changes the apparent interaction, remove it or label the treatment as illustrative. Any beta AI assistance should be checked against the actual installed version.
Reasons to consider it
- Direct animation, tracking and compositing tools are documented.
- Render controls include movie and image-sequence paths.
The tradeoff
The team needs a capable owner for the detailed work. Neither a sophisticated timeline nor an AI assistant proves that the animated interface matches the released product.
Access and availability: Adobe offers After Effects subscriptions and a trial on its official product page.Product research checkedEvidence behind this assessment
Composition-based production
After Effects provides desktop motion graphics, visual effects, and combined 2D/3D animation tools.
Imported design assets
It imports Illustrator and Photoshop assets and can create reusable Motion Graphics templates for Premiere.
Direct controls and beta assistance
It offers animation, compositing, tracking, and effects controls; a beta AI Assistant helps with project organization, expressions, and generated media.
Render and delivery controls
Compositions render through the Render Queue or Adobe Media Encoder, with movie and image-sequence delivery options.
- Visit Hera
4. Hera
For prompt-led UI motion with focused manual corrections
Editable AI motion graphics
Hera documents UI animation and editable motion graphics, with supplied screenshots and brand inputs described in its guide. It offers both prompt-based changes and manual refinement, including targeted text, spacing and timing revisions. That is relevant when the product team wants a generated starting treatment but needs a precise final layout.
For the filter example, describe the unchanged orientation anchor and the exact resulting list. Ask for only one active focus cue at a time. If the callout becomes a fake native control, move it outside the screen and make its editorial role clear. The buyer should evaluate the actual correction in a sample rather than inferring fidelity from a gallery or a polished template.
Reasons to consider it
- Screenshots, colors and font choices can guide the animation.
- UI and infographic explanations are explicit product focuses.
The tradeoff
Confirm exact output and audio requirements directly. A scene-planning tool is not itself a rendered UI demonstration, and source accuracy remains a product-review task.
Access and availability: The official homepage links directly to the creation app and templates.Product research checkedEvidence behind this assessment
Prompt and template workflow
Hera generates editable animations from prompts and offers templates; its launch tool helps prepare a scene plan.
Brand direction
Hera's workflow guide describes supplying screenshots, logos, colors, font choices, and reusable brand-motion rules.
Prompt and direct controls
The product offers prompt-based changes and manual refinement; its guide recommends targeted revisions to text, spacing, and timing.
Channel versions
The workflow guide describes exporting channel-specific versions; the launch builder prepares landscape, square, and vertical briefs.
Documented use cases
Hera presents infographics, explainers, UI animation, branded motion, and product launches.
- Visit Motion.so
5. Motion.so
For a planned UI story with conversational and direct edits
AI motion design agent
Motion.so can help organize a UI explanation into scenes while retaining manual movement and resizing for particular elements. Its documented workflow includes brand research and storyboarding, and it accepts uploaded assets and references. Those shared planning capabilities make it a credible alternative for this job.
For the search-filter study, make the actual screenshots authoritative and use a reference only for the intended pacing. The storyboard should explain why the viewer sees an overview before the detail. If a label overlaps the control, a direct adjustment may be suitable; if the sequence explains the wrong task, a conversational change may address the larger issue. Recheck both types of revision against the state map.
Reasons to consider it
- Storyboarding and uploaded references support early direction.
- Chat and manual element controls are documented.
The tradeoff
Do not assume website research identifies the current interface version. Supply release-specific assets and verify any reconstructed transition before presenting it as real behavior.
Access and availability: The official homepage offers public sign-up and a demo booking.Product research checkedEvidence behind this assessment
Brief and storyboard
Motion takes a prompt through brand research, a scene-by-scene storyboard, motion design, and video production.
Brand inputs
It reads website colors and typography, accepts uploaded assets and reference videos, and supports a design system.
Manual and conversational editing
Users can resize or move elements manually and request changes through chat.
Documented use cases
Its examples cover launch videos, product demos, logo animations, social ads, and documentary explainers.
- Visit Swishy
6. Swishy
For a bounded text or graphic accent around a UI scene
AI motion graphics and typography
Swishy is relevant when the assignment is a focused motion element around an already approved interface: a short title treatment, an explanatory graphic or a branded accent. Its gallery includes UI examples, and its documented motion tools support natural-language direction, templates and adjustments to timing, colors and elements.
For this brief, keep the interface evidence stable and use the generated element to guide attention rather than simulate a control. Custom-font support can help the annotation belong to the brand without impersonating the app's native UI. Preview the accent at the actual screen size and inspect whether it competes with the result label. A small assignment is often easier to evaluate clearly than an undefined request to animate everything.
Reasons to consider it
- Custom fonts and brand color matching are documented.
- MP4, MOV and GIF outputs are described.
The tradeoff
Confirm any required narration or caption workflow separately. The checked sources leave that scope undocumented, and a gallery example does not establish every detailed UI-editing capability.
Access and availability: Its official feature pages link to public sign-up for animation creation.Product research checkedEvidence behind this assessment
Prompted motion graphics
Swishy generates motion graphics from natural-language direction and provides templates for starting a design.
Colors and fonts

Customization and preview
Users can fine-tune colors, timing, and elements, with previews for iterative typography changes.
Audio scope to confirm
Not documented in the checked sources
The checked product pages do not specify an integrated narration, music, or caption workflow.
Export formats
The feature pages document MP4, MOV, and GIF exports.
- Visit ngram
7. ngram
For animated emphasis grounded in a real screen recording
AI business video creation and editing
ngram is useful when preserving actual interface behavior matters more than rebuilding the screen as editable layers. It starts from a prompt or recording, proposes scenes for approval and offers frame-pinned feedback alongside chat and timeline changes. A captured filter action can therefore remain the evidence around which the explanation is shaped.
For this study, use the scene plan to decide which waiting time can be removed and which state must remain visible. Pin a request to the exact result frame if the label is too small or the pause too short. Brand assets and captions can support the presentation, but they should stay outside the control area the viewer needs to inspect.
Reasons to consider it
- Screen recordings and pre-build plan approval are documented.
- Frame feedback can coexist with direct timeline adjustments.
The tradeoff
A recording is less like an editable design document. Choose that source deliberately and check cuts for missing prerequisites rather than assuming an animated overlay supplies the full interaction.
Access and availability: The official page offers a public creation/login flow and states that users can start without a credit card.Product research checkedEvidence behind this assessment
Plan approval
ngram starts with a prompt or screen recording, outlines the scenes, and asks for approval before building the video.
Reusable brand identity
Its brand kit includes colors, fonts, logo, and intro/outro sequences; captions can use brand colors.
Frame feedback and timeline
Users can pin requested changes to a frame, edit through chat, or adjust scenes directly in the timeline.
Narration, soundtrack, and captions
The workflow creates narration and a soundtrack, adds captions, and allows voice or language changes.
Video, GIF, and sharing
Finished videos export as MP4, short videos can export as GIF, and sharing links or embeds are offered.
- Visit MotionVid
8. MotionVid
For graphics added to an existing interface recording
AI motion graphics and video editor
MotionVid documents a mode for adding graphics to uploaded video as well as generating motion graphics and single graphic assets. That makes it relevant when the actual interface action is already recorded and the team needs an explanatory layer around it. Scene-level revision can isolate a headline or one part of the explanation.
For the filter example, keep the source recording's values unchanged and identify the region an annotation may occupy. Use supplied narration only after its wording has been checked against the real action, then inspect the visual timing around the result. The data-workflow brand controls may be useful for related labels, but their documented scope should not be inflated into an automatic import of every UI design system.
Reasons to consider it
- Uploaded-video enhancement is a documented creation mode.
- One scene or headline can be revised while retaining others.
The tradeoff
Evaluate the exact overlay and source-preservation behavior in your own example. Do not infer editable native UI layers or unrestricted brand automation from general motion-graphics support.
Access and availability: The official homepage lists subscription plans and creation entry points.Product research checkedEvidence behind this assessment

Scene-level revision
Users can ask for a headline fix or a new version of one scene while retaining the other scenes.
Narration and uploaded audio
It generates narration and music, accepts uploaded voiceover or music, and can time animation to supplied narration.
Rendered video
Motion graphics can be rendered and downloaded through Share / Export; the API returns completed MP4 files.
- Visit Canva
9. Canva
For simple UI-state explanations within a design campaign
Visual design suite and online video editor
Canva can fit a limited UI explanation assembled from approved screenshots and short labels. Its multilayer timeline, uploaded clips and element animation allow the team to sequence an overview, focus and result within the broader design suite. That may be practical when the same people are creating slides and social assets around the feature.
For the sample, keep each real state identifiable rather than morphing individual controls into new shapes. Animate the explanatory label or crop only after deciding what the viewer needs to notice. A Pro Brand Kit can help maintain supporting identity when entitled, but exact product values and screen structure should be checked against the source after every layout change.
Reasons to consider it
- Uploaded media and element animation are documented.
- Voiceover recording and automatic captions can support the explanation.
The tradeoff
Use this for the specific composition it can demonstrate, not an assumed interactive prototype. Plan-dependent assets and resizing require checking, and the final narrow layout still needs a readability pass.
Access and availability: Canva offers public sign-up and access to its online video editor.Product research checkedEvidence behind this assessment
Template and clip editing
Canva combines templates, uploaded clips, a multilayer timeline, and AI-assisted video creation in its design suite.
Brand kit and templates
Canva Pro's Brand Kit stores logos, colors, fonts, imagery, templates, and guidelines for consistent designs.
Timeline and animation controls
Users can trim, split, splice, layer, and animate video elements; AI tools also assist with clip selection and sequencing.
Voice, music, and captions
Canva documents voiceover recording, music, automatic captions, and plan-dependent audio enhancement and beat tools.
MP4, GIF, and social sharing
Videos can export as MP4 or GIF and share to connected social accounts; resizing and asset permissions depend on the plan.
- Visit Motionfly
10. Motionfly
For a concise interface spotlight within a product promo
AI product launch video maker
Motionfly is relevant when the UI animation belongs inside a product-focused reveal and the team wants screens, text and a device presentation in one brief. It accepts screenshots, logo and brand colors, and its documented workflow includes previewing and refining a generated product-description sequence.
For the filter study, constrain the script to the real task and distinguish the moving device frame from the app interaction. A device tilt or title entrance can be expressive while the screen itself remains factually unchanged. After a prompt revision, compare the before and after UI with the approved captures. Do not let a regenerated, more polished screen quietly replace the actual product state being explained.
Reasons to consider it
- Device mockups and animated text are documented ingredients.
- Vertical, square and landscape delivery is described.
The tradeoff
This is a product-presentation fit, not proof of fine-grained native UI editing. Supply action evidence and verify exact labels before treating the sequence as an instructional demonstration.
Access and availability: The official homepage offers a public Get Started link to its editor.Product research checkedEvidence behind this assessment

Write a screen-state and annotation contract
List every approved state, the native labels that cannot change and the visual elements added by the film. Keep editorial arrows, keylines and explanatory text visibly separate from real controls. A generated transition should not imply a click or result that the source does not support.
If the asset is a design proposal, label it accordingly. The animation's visual confidence must not turn a proposed interface into a claim about released behavior.
Test one hard correction
Use a specific request: move the annotation while keeping the result value, label position and screen scale unchanged. Compare the revised frame with the original source and inspect neighboring frames for clipping or a one-frame jump.
This suggested test reveals the correction workflow more clearly than asking whether a tool has AI. The listed products often combine AI and direct controls; the important fit is which route the team can use accurately.
Choose the output that the explanation actually needs
A rendered video, transparent overlay and web-animation asset are different handoffs. Ask for the exact required format and verify the selected plan or workflow. Do not infer a format from a visually similar demo on a product homepage.
For reuse, retain the approved source version and a still reference. A later UI revision should trigger a check of labels, action order and narration rather than only a visual refresh.
The decision
Prefer Animro for review-led UI explanation; choose direct authorship deliberately
We recommend Animro for a team directing the screen story through storyboard, styleframe and annotated-draft approvals before the final render. This recommendation reflects our publisher judgment and current-build documentation, not a test of interaction accuracy.
Jitter or After Effects may fit a designer-owned composition, while ngram can preserve a recorded interaction and Hera offers another editable graphic route. Whichever workflow you choose, the acceptance condition is faithful, legible explanation of the approved interface.
