Who this is for: Teams making dense data interfaces readable.
What to prepare
- Labeled table screenshot
- Matching detail screen
- Verified opening and return behavior
Copyable creative brief
An authored planning example. Replace illustrative details with your approved product facts and assets.
Plan a 30-second illustrative inspection of sample request R-038, “Sample booklet review.” Start with a supplied table showing Identifier, Subject, Status and Owner. Keep column headings visible. Highlight R-038 because its status is Awaiting review, then activate the real row-open control. Move into the actual detail view while retaining R-038 and its subject. Inspect the Owner and Due date fields with one callout at a time. Do not imply that inspection changes the record. Return through the verified close or back action and show the same table scope and selected row. Use a stable sample dataset, not real customer records. If the product navigates to a new page rather than opening a panel, follow that behavior instead of inventing a sliding drawer.
Make it your own
- Row identity
- Choose a stable identifier and subject.
- Inspection fields
- Select fields answering one viewer question.
- Return behavior
- Use the actual close or back route.
Prepare table context
Supply the full table and detail state with matching values. Preserve active filters, sort order and pagination where they explain why the row is present. Cropping off all column labels leaves values without meaning.
Adapt the inspection
For a compact video, inspect one field only and use the saved time for the return. For a training version, explain how to close the detail view without altering the record. Avoid a rapid tour of every field.
Fix object confusion
If the row title wraps differently in the detail panel, retain the identifier as an anchor. If the list reorders after return, verify why; an inspection-only task should not be shown as a status change unless the product actually performs one.
Review checklist
- Column labels remain available.
- The same record is inspected.
- Inspection is not implied to modify data.
