Make it your own
- Test task
- Choose a bounded action participants can attempt.
- Limits
- State the cases relevant to that task.
- Feedback request
- Ask for useful context rather than a generic reaction.
Set expectations before invitation
Make eligibility and limitations visible before asking someone to participate. A beta label alone does not tell viewers what is supported or whether submitting a request grants access.
Adapt the feedback request
For a longer version, walk through one example report containing task, input conditions and expected result. Use a verified channel for sensitive information rather than suggesting public disclosure of private notes.
Review beta truth
Do not present a hypothetical suggestion as a tested output. Keep planned functionality separate from what participants can use. When the feature later ships, recheck scope rather than merely deleting the beta badge.
Review checklist
- The task is bounded and understandable.
- Eligibility is distinct from guaranteed acceptance.
- Known limits precede the invitation.
- Feedback instructions are specific and approved.
