Who this is for: Motion producers writing precise creative and educational briefs.
What to prepare
- Original storyboard and message
- Purpose of each camera move
- Approved overview and detail views
Copyable creative brief
An authored planning example. Replace illustrative details with your approved product facts and assets.
Create a 30-second restrained alternative to ORIGINAL_SEQUENCE. List each large camera movement and the information it carries in PURPOSE_MAP. Remove decorative travel. For informative movement, replace it with a fixed overview, a clearly labeled detail or a second stable view that preserves the relationship. Begin with ORIENTATION_VIEW. Introduce DETAIL_ONE through a restrained highlight or a direct change to a labeled detail composition, retaining a small overview or explicit orientation label. Repeat for DETAIL_TWO only if it is necessary to the supplied message. Do not replace a camera sweep with rapid flashing cuts, continuous background drift or another large translation. Finish with the whole diagram and the same approved conclusion as the original. Compare message, order, labels and qualifications between versions. Flag any information lost by removing movement and propose a static cue to restore it. This is a creative alternative; hosting-page playback controls, user preferences and complete accessibility assessment remain separate considerations.
Make it your own
- ORIGINAL_SEQUENCE
- Supply the storyboard and exact message to preserve.
- PURPOSE_MAP
- Map each movement to orientation, detail, connection or decoration.
- ORIENTATION_VIEW
- Provide a stable complete reference with clear labels.
- DETAIL_ONE and DETAIL_TWO
- Identify the necessary details and their location in the whole.
Fill the route replacement
For an illustrative Collect → Compare → Decide journey, replace camera travel with a fixed route map and sequential stage highlights. When explaining Compare, show a labeled detail beside the map instead of zooming the entire frame. Keep the route order visible.
Adapt spatial information
If depth reveals a hidden connection, provide a labeled second view or cutaway. Do not remove the connection merely because the move is gone. W3C's interaction-motion criterion concerns disabling nonessential interaction-triggered animation on the web; this video treatment alone does not prove that delivery behavior.
Correct an incomplete alternative
If the new sequence loses direction, add orientation labels. If it replaces a long sweep with many abrupt cuts, simplify the number of views. If a static detail cannot be understood without the overview, keep both visible and allocate more reading time.
Review checklist
- Every informative move has an equivalent cue.
- The same message and qualifications survive.
- Stable views retain orientation.
- The treatment avoids substituting another disruptive effect.
