Who this is for: Motion producers writing precise creative and educational briefs.
What to prepare
- Three exact visual events and times
- Approved percussion assets or descriptions
- Narration and protected reading intervals
Copyable creative brief
An authored planning example. Replace illustrative details with your approved product facts and assets.
Plan a 15-second visual-and-audio study with exactly three percussion cues tied to EVENT_ONE, EVENT_TWO and EVENT_THREE. Describe each cue's role and intended character in CUE_MAP. Use only approved audio assets or clearly marked sound directions for later production; do not claim that audio has been generated or mixed. Place each cue on the visible event it emphasizes, checking the actual contact or reveal moment. Keep SILENT_INTERVALS free of additional effects and avoid adding a constant rhythmic layer that defeats the sparse treatment. If narration overlaps a cue, prioritize intelligibility by revising the arrangement or cue placement without breaking the visual relationship. Let the third event resolve the composition and provide a quiet final reading hold. The visual sequence must remain understandable when muted; sound reinforces meaning rather than carrying the only evidence of a state change. Include a cue sheet with event time, purpose, competing speech and an optional removal test. Do not prescribe a universal platform loudness target.
Make it your own
- EVENT_ONE, EVENT_TWO and EVENT_THREE
- Identify three supplied visible events with exact intended times.
- CUE_MAP
- Specify sound character and purpose for each event.
- SILENT_INTERVALS
- Name the reading or listening spaces with no effects.
- NARRATION_MAP
- List any spoken phrases that must remain clear.
Fill a sparse rhythm
An illustrative 15-second sequence reveals a seed shape at 2 seconds, separates three parts at 6 seconds and recombines them at 10 seconds. Assign a light tap, a soft tick and a restrained low impact respectively. Keep the final five seconds quiet for the complete diagram.
Adapt the hierarchy
If only the recombination is important, remove the first two cues and use the prompt as a comparison study. For speech-heavy material, choose a less intrusive sound character or adjust visual timing to create a genuine pause. Do not shift a cue away from its event solely to hit a music beat.
Correct cue clutter
If additional whooshes appear, remove them from the brief. If a cue sounds before its event, inspect synchronization in the encoded file. If all three sounds have equal weight, revise their roles so the concluding event has the intended emphasis without relying only on louder playback.
Review checklist
- Exactly three intended cue events are documented.
- Silent intervals remain free of added effects.
- Cues align with their visible events.
- Muted playback still communicates the complete sequence.
