Who this is for: Product teams planning a truthful and usable release storyboard.
What to prepare
- Approved existing and added mapping scope.
- Source and destination evidence for one object.
- Verified trigger, direction and transformation rules.
Scene-by-scene storyboard
30-second planning sequence · illustrative copy and visual direction
- 01
0–5s
Previous boundary
Show the existing title transfer with the due-date field outside the mapped area.
On screen:Previously: transfer the request title.
- 02
5–11s
Addition
Highlight the approved new source-to-destination due-date mapping.
On screen:Now include the supported due-date field.
- 03
11–18s
Trigger
Use the real transfer action for one labeled illustrative request.
On screen:Send through the verified workflow.
- 04
18–25s
Destination
Inspect the matching board item and its readable destination date.
On screen:Check the date on the same item.
- 05
25–30s
Limits
Retain direction and scope without implying reverse synchronization.
On screen:This shows the approved one-way field addition.
Make it your own
- Added field
- Name the exact new field or action.
- Transfer conditions
- Supply direction, trigger and prerequisites.
- Destination check
- Specify the value or state that proves the addition.
Draw the boundary
Mark existing behavior separately from the release addition. A connector line should explain direction, not substitute for proof. Keep an identifier or title stable so source and destination can be compared.
Adapt to a transformed value
If the field changes format, show the owner-approved rule. Date-only values, timezones and empty values need precise treatment when relevant. Do not invent a conversion to make the screens appear consistent.
Review handoff truth
The destination state is the proof moment. Avoid continuous-sync arrows or automated setup imagery unless those capabilities are documented. If only a conceptual mapping is available, label it and narrow the demonstrated claim.
Review checklist
- Existing and added support remain distinct.
- The source object is traceable at the destination.
- Transformation rules are supplied.
- No reverse-sync or automatic-setup claim is inferred.
