Who this is for: Product teams preparing accurate software update communication.
What to prepare
- The approved integration change record.
- Source and destination fields with verified mapping rules.
- Prerequisites, direction, timing behavior and error limits.
Draw the old boundary and the addition
Use three labeled stages: source, mapping or action, destination. Mark the existing path first, then the newly supported field or event. This is more useful than joining two logos with an animated line, which does not explain the release.
Record direction and control. A one-way transfer is not synchronization, and a manual trigger is not automatic processing. Do not infer refresh timing or conflict handling from the existence of an integration.
- Existing behavior: the handoff already supported.
- Added behavior: the exact new field, event or action.
- Conditions: account setup, permissions and eligible records.
- Verification: the destination value or state to inspect.
- Limits: unsupported directions, fields or cases.
Worked example: add a due-date field
Imagine a fictional connection from a request tracker to a planning board. It already transfers a request title after a verified manual action. The illustrative update also maps the request's due date to the board item's due-date field. This is a generic communication example, not an Animro integration claim.
Draw the flow as Request title plus Due date, then approved transfer action, then Board title plus Board due date. Use one labeled example request throughout. Show the destination date in its actual display format and include any supplied timezone or date-only rules.
- Before boundary: title transfers; due date must be supplied separately.
- New addition: due-date mapping in the supported direction.
- Action: use the verified transfer trigger.
- Proof: inspect the matching board item and its due-date field.
- Unverified possibilities to exclude: reverse sync, automatic updates and conflict resolution.
Keep the transferred object traceable
Use a stable example identifier or title that exists in both systems. A transition to an unrelated populated board cannot prove that the shown source produced the result. If the destination changes the displayed format, explain that transformation using approved mapping details.
Treat loading, queueing and confirmation as separate states when the workflow requires them. A line reaching the second logo is an explanatory graphic, not evidence of a completed transfer.
Handle unsupported values and missing evidence
Ask the integration owner what happens when the source field is empty or invalid. The announcement may not need a full error lesson, but it must not imply universal success if common inputs are excluded.
If only the field mapping is verified, keep the claim at that level. Link to the supplied setup instructions for connection details. Avoid promising that a video brief itself imports, configures or executes any integration.
Review checklist
- Existing and added behavior are visibly distinct.
- Transfer direction and trigger match the approved record.
- The same example object appears at both ends.
- Destination inspection provides the proof moment.
- No unsupported synchronization or automatic setup claim appears.
