Roadmap-to-shipped transition storyboard

Make it your own

Prior plan
Use the exact earlier promise or intention.
Shipped subset
Name the behavior actually available.
Remaining scope
Keep unshipped work explicitly separate.

Compare the plan and release

A roadmap label may cover several capabilities. Map each part to its current status before writing the reveal. Do not mark the whole item shipped merely because one subset is available.

Adapt when the delivered feature differs

Explain the implemented task in current terms and state the relevant difference from the earlier plan. Avoid inventing a justification or a new future date. The product owner supplies any explanation of changed direction.

Review status consistency

Check the old roadmap reference, current announcement and access page together. Unshipped material should remain planned or otherwise accurately labeled. A celebratory ending must not erase a scope boundary established earlier.

Review checklist

  • Prior plans and current facts have distinct labels.
  • The shipped subset is precise.
  • Remaining exclusions are explicit.
  • Access instructions match current eligibility.
