Who this is for: Motion producers planning timed educational and brand studies.
What to prepare
- Original soundtrack transcript and meaningful sound list
- Approved visual states and essential message
- Caption and sound-off copy with review owner
Copyable creative brief
An authored planning example. Replace illustrative details with your approved product facts and assets.
The worked example adapts an illustrative gate explanation for muted viewing. Preserve question, state change and qualification. A sound-off composition can supplement captions, but it is not automatically equivalent to a complete caption treatment or a broader accessibility assessment.

Make it your own
- AUDIO_INFORMATION
- List speech and sounds that carry essential meaning.
- REPLACEMENT_COPY
- Supply accurate readable text for each necessary item.
- VISUAL_EVIDENCE
- Map each statement to an approved visible state.
Build the information inventory
List each spoken fact, speaker-dependent meaning and relevant sound. Mark whether it is already clear visually or needs replacement. The opening inventory in this template is a review device; for a public explanatory film, replace it with the approved audience-facing context once the adaptation is complete.
Adapt without overloading the screen
If three spoken clauses cannot fit readably, split them into separate beats or use a 60-second plan. Keep the essential qualification with the claim. Do not paste the whole transcript over a busy diagram and call the adaptation finished; text needs its own hierarchy and protected region.
Run the mute review
Watch without relying on sound and ask whether the question, state change and limit remain understandable. Then compare the muted version against the original information inventory. If the original contains speaker identity or meaningful sound not represented here, add the appropriate caption treatment and review it separately.
Review checklist
- Every essential audio item has an explicit treatment.
- Replacement text preserves qualifications.
- Visual evidence matches the stated change.
- Muted review covers the whole explanation.
